6.2.17 Prayer Prompt: Glory to God

PRAYER PROMPT ••• Everyone likes accolades.

We want to receive credit for a job well done.

(So much so that many studies report people would rather have praise than a raise in pay!)

However, how often do we fail to give credit to the One who enables and empowers us?

In my job, I write and work with other writers.

I love getting positive feedback about my articles and other things I write for my employer!

But it’s not MY talent.

It’s a gift from God.

I’m happy when others are pleased with my work, but it’s more important for Him to be pleased.

I want all I do to reflect His glory; I fail time and again, but I’m working on it and praying about it.

We live in a “look at me and all I have and have done” society… where seemingly perfect lives are shared on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media channels.

But the only true perfection and the only One worthy of glory and praise is Jesus Christ!

Today, as you pray, ask Him to help you keep you humble, and help you focus on giving the glory to God.

Ask Him to help you give Him the credit for any accomplishment, since He is the one from which your strengths and talents come!

NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
